The Gite

In a natural and rural setting, we offer a small gite for 2-3 persons with 1 bedroom (double bed) and 1 single bed in the salon.

 The cottage is equipped with a kitchen, bathroom with WC, little outdoor terrace & free WIFI.

Sheets and towels are included in the price as well as end-of-stay cleaning.

WHAT TO VISIT & DO

D-day beaches and museums

The Calvados is of course famous for its WOII history. You can't and should not miss a visit to some of the D-day remembrance places. Omaha Beach at 10-15 min drive, Pointe du Hoc, Utah beach (30min), Arromanches (30min)

Take a hike or bike ride

This area is beautiful for hikes or a nice bike ride. Stroll through nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest, marais or beach

Food & beverage

The Calvados earns its name to this drink, or is it the other way around? next to this lovely digestive the region also known for its apple cider /cheeses/ butter and fresh fish produce. Visit the fish market in Port en Bessin or Grand camp Maisy and get yourself a nice fresh fish for on the BBQ.

Mont St Michel

This historic site is a must see when you are visiting Normandy. Walk the age-old steps up toward the ancient Abby and overlook the beautiful surroundings of this rare and historic sight.

Normandy villages and cities

The region offers plenty of old towns and villages with quaint and historic stories. Visit Bayeux, Saint Lo, Deauville/ Trouville, Honfleur , Cherbourg, Carentan, Barneville Carteret and many more, they are all within an hours reach of the gite.

Historic sites

Visit the many historic sites Normandy has to offer, f.e. the Castle in Caen or the place of birth of William the conqueror Falaise. Do not miss the famous Tapisserie de Bayeux that is a UNESCO protected piece of art.
